The heart is perhaps the most important organ in the human body. It is the lifeline that keeps all other organs working. Without the heart, there is no way a person could survive. That is why it is important to take care of your heart and keep it healthy and strong. The way to do this is through healthy eating and exercise.

In trying to protect your heart and keep it healthy, you do not have to stay away from all the foods that you love. You just have to make sure that you are eating them in moderation. It is important to limit the cholesterol intake. Cholesterol is a waxy substance that is found in the cells of your body. When there is too much of it, it can build up in your arteries and clog them leading to a heart attack, or heart disease. It is also important to stay away from too much fat as it can have similar consequences.

Exercise is also vital in keeping a healthy heart. The heart is a muscle and, Staying active means that you are using this muscle more to pump blood, which is very good for the heart. If you are obese, losing weight means that your heart has to work less hard to supply your body with blood. A healthy regimen of exercise can be the difference between a short life and a long one.

Maintain the proper balance of exercise and healthy eating will keep your heart healthy. It will free you of cholesterol and other such problems. It will also protect you from heart disease. These things need to be done to protect the most important organ in your body and keep the rest of your organs working properly.
